Going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World? Plan ahead and save money on trip and party essentials! Here are 13 must-have, packable items  you can buy on Amazon.

  1. An autograph book for character meets. Autographs are a fun and enduring souvenir of your trip. I bring mine to every character meet and greet and even collect autographs from cast members. Store the photos you take in this dual-purpose autograph book (with spaces for photos and signatures). The autograph books sold in the parks are much more expensive and don’t have this special photo insert feature, so pack one before you leave home.
  2. Disney Halloween T-shirt.  Were you planning to wear a costume to the party? It was fun seeing other guests in costume, of course, but they looked hot and sweaty in their costumes, wigs and makeup. Most adults wore Halloween t-shirts, instead. If you want to party like a pro, wear athletic shoes, socks, shorts and a fun, comfortable, breathable Halloween t-shirt, like this one. Halloween t-shirts are selling for $30-$40 at Disney World so this Amazon find is a bargain.
  3. Rain ponchos. If you are going to the Party in August, September or up until October 20, packing rain gear in you park bag is an absolute must, because it WILL rain and it may be torrential rain at times. I recommend bringing 2 ponchos per person. This pack of five rain ponchos costs less than one poncho at Disney.
  4. Mini umbrella for your park bag. The best ones shield you from the sun and the rain. A solar umbrella is a game-changer when the sun beats down on y you at Magic Kingdom or Epcot. It’s instant shade! I bought this small, lightweight solar umbrella on Amazon and it’s perfect!
  5. Shoe covers will keep your socks and shoes dry, even in torrential rain. Don’t get blisters at Disney World by wearing wet shoes! These silicone shoe covers  come in all sizes and even fit over my size 11 wide athletic shoes. It rained a lot and I was glad I had them — I didn’t feel a drop! Bring a ziploc bag to store them in your park bag.
  6. Halloween Light-Up Necklace.  This large candy corn necklace is a Halloween glow-up for half the price of the ones sold at Disney World. They come in  handy because they make it easy to spot your companions in the dark. And they’re so much fun.
  7. Halloween Mouse Ears. Disney is happy to sell you Halloween mouse  ears for $37 (yes, the price went up since last year!) but save more than $25 and buy Halloween mouse ears on Amazon for less than $10! Many reviewers say they are more comfortable to wear than the tight, expensive ones.
  8. A Park Bag is essential when you go to Disney World. Why spend $80 to $100 on a Halloween Loungefly that you might wear one or two times when you could have a much less expensive bag you’ll wear again and again? This black mini backpack is lightweight and good-looking. For a fun touch, add a Halloween-themed bag charm.
  9. A refillable water bottle will save you a small fortune on drinks at Disney World while keeping you hydrated.  This lightweight, 20 oz water bottle  comes in Halloween colors of orange, black and clear and will look great hanging on your mini back pack — just add a cararbiner clip and you’re good to go. Refill at Cosmic Ray’s in Tomorrowland, at the Tron restrooms bottle fountain and at Pinocchio Village Haus in Fantasyland.
  10. Snacks keep your energy up and save you money and time standing in line at Disney World. Pack small snacks in your park bag, like my favorite Larabars.
  11. A handy medicine keeper  is convenient, inexpensive ($5) and lightweight. Just fill with painkillers and other essential OTC medicines. These medicines are pricey at Disney World, so you’ll be glad you packed them.
  12. Lidocaine patches also belong in your park bag. Thrill rides, extensive walking and lugging around suitcases can make your lower back ache when you go to Disney World. These are the ones I use when I travel. They stick in place and the lidocaine really helps the pain!
  13. School scissors are allowed by TSA at airports and are good for opening tricky plastic packages, removing price tags, stripping off flight labels and cutting off itchy tags from clothing when you travel. But you will also need them for the Party to snip off your Party wristband after the Party is over. If you are traveling with someone who has sensory sensitivities or who is a child, you may want to bring those scissors with you in your park bag, just in case. If a child fiddles with the band, it can become uncomfortably tight — and they are almost impossible to loosen at that point. Good luck finding a cast member who has scissors! You’d better bring your own. I saw more than one child in tears at the party because they had pulled on their wrist band. You MAY wear the band in an alternative way, for example, pinned to a lanyard or a t-shirt (in that case, you’ll need to bring safety pins). Some cast members may tell you this isn’t allowed — but it is — just ask for a manager and then ask for the accommodation. They will say yes.
