Have you heard the news? Fourth of July weekend is going to be hot! And while it will be VERY hot in Orlando, incredibly, it will be cooler there than it is in Virginia, where I live! So, I will be joining ABC’s David Muir, thousands of Disney fans and maybe you! and heading to Disney World to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
If you wonder what it will be like, check out this YouTube video from Sunshine Squirrel, because that is pretty much what convinced me to take this trip!
Here is my plan, in a nutshell. I am flying into Orlando on Friday. In the evening, I will visit Magic Kingdom and see the fireworks show. I also want to visit the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland for its last spin before it is closed for refurbishment.
By the way, quick tip: if you wear mouse ears, Hobby Lobby has put its patriotic mouse ears on sale for $9. For me, they are more comfortable than Loungefly ones to wear and $23 less than any mouse ears you’ll find in the Disney!

On Saturday, I am going to Epcot, bright and early. My plan is to spend a good amount of time in the American Adventure Pavilion to see the animatronic show, which I have never seen, and listen to the Voices of Liberty. If I’m lucky, I’ll get a photo with Micky, Goofy and Pluto!
I’m spending as much time in the air conditioning as I can. I’m really looking forward to seeing the new Light Lounge inside of the Odyssey Pavilion. I hear there is lots of seating in there.
See the Planner Pages for the full schedule of Fourth of July activities at Epcot. I can’t wait to order this drink from Regal Eagle!

As you know, I use a Disney Planner to plan and keep track of the details of my trips. They are free for you to edit, print and use for your own vacation. I have formatted these pages so they fit into a mini photo album for quick and easy reference. Print the pages and trim them to size to fit in the album You can purchase the album for $1.25 at Dollar Tree, if you don’t have one.
This link is a customizable document. You can edit this document (change the font size, make your own notes and plans, etc.)
And this link (you will click once and it takes you to another page and you click that link) takes you to the PDF file of the planner pages. This PDF document isn’t customizable. If you are okay with printing and using my planner pages, just as I wrote them, this file is for you.

Now you are organized and ready to go (except for packing, that is!) However you choose to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, at home or at Disney World, I hope you have a wonderful time!
