Did you know that it is World Princess Week? While it is alway fun to celebrate this week in the Disney Parks, you can also celebrate at home. Today, I’m sharing ways to get inspired by the Disney Princesses and create some wonderful meals and treats.

Something fun you could do this week is make a Disney Princess-inspired meal and watch a movie together.
I suggest using a recipe from the Disney Princess Cookbook.
Targeted to kids, this is seriously one of my favorite cookbooks. It’s not hard to add a little spice to the easy-to-make, healthy recipes. My favorites:
- Magic Lamp Curry I substituted golden raisins and used “lite” coconut milk in my recipe. Perfectly paired if you plan to watch Aladdin.
- Belle’s Corn Chowder. Do you plan to watch Beauty and the Beast? Make this delicious soup. I used one can each of sodium free corn and creamed corn (doesn’t come in sodium-free); added 1 cup of prepared mashed potatoes for extra body (made from a mix); and tossed in a dash each of garlic powder, white pepper, thyme and parsley. I also used low-sodium, real bacon bits.
Another fun idea would be to have a Princess Tea Party (and yes, this can be just for you! )
For your tea, brew a floral or fruit-infused tea, such as hibiscus, raspberry, chamomile or Earl Grey. The Princess Cookbook suggests steeping raspberry tea with mint tea. I’ve tried that and it is easy and delicious (and has no caffeine). Have lemon slices and sugar on hand.
I love tea sandwiches. To make cucumber tea sandwiches, spread softened butter Pepperidge Farm Thin white bread. Trim the crusts. Sprinkle with a little bit of fresh, chopped mint leaves. Top with peeled, thinly sliced cucumber. Cut into triangles. Chicken salad sandwiches are easy. Walmart’s chicken salad is delicious and so is the Ukrops chicken salad sold in the Richmond, Virginia area. Spread chicken salad on Pepperidge Farms Thin wheat bread. If you don’t eat chicken, you could substitute herbed or vegetable cream cheese or pimiento cheese. Trim the crusts. Cut into bars. Garnish sandwiches with a spring of parsley.
For sweets, serve pound cake or madeleines with fresh, whole strawberries and a dish of lemon curd. The lemon lime curd at World Market is especially tasty. If you’re going to watch Brave, you could make or buy some oatmeal cookies or have some Scottish shortbread.
This book has some wonderful recipes and it is on sale on Amazon.

A tea party needs music, too, so pair your Princess tea party with orchestral or lo-fi instrumental versions of Disney Princess songs (like the Disney Peace Piano or Orchestral Disney playlists).
Lastly, craft a Princess-inspired cocktail or mocktail to enjoy with your favorite Disney Princess film. Mix a drink that matches a princess’s aesthetic—like a lavender-lemonade martini for Rapunzel, a sparkling apple cider spritz for Snow White or a tropical cocktail for Moana. This book has many more drink recipes to try..
Will you be celebrating World Princess week at home?
