World Princess Week is coming up soon! The annual event will be observed this year from August 16-22 at the Disney Parks. The event at Walt Disney World — if there is an event — is pretty low-key, because I haven’t heard much about it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it if you plan to be there!
World Princess Week, if you haven’t guessed, pays homage to the 13 official Disney Princesses: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Moana and Raya. Each of these protagonists have appeared in leading roles in full-length animated Disney films, and some have even been inducted into this group with elaborate ceremonies.
Although World Princess Week is celebrated in a bigger way at Disneyland in California and at Disneyland Paris, you can still observe this celebration at Walt Disney World with the suggestions in my free, printable planning pages. A quick trip that focuses on Princesses could be a lot of fun for a Disney adult who still enjoys the magic of fairy tales and crowds in the theme parks will be lower mid-week as kids return to school.
Here’s a video that captures some of what World Princess Week was like for a content creator visiting Walt Disney World last year. So, who knows? Walt Disney World may surprise us this year!

This plan works for any week to and meet loads of Disney Princesses and enjoy Disney Princess-themed treats. You can do a little or a lot (you don’t have to do a character meal, for instance). It’s very possible to see quite a lot of Princesses in person, especially at Epcot, even without splurging on a character meal.
And I see that a last minute, quick trip to Disney World next week is not so very expensive as you might think. There are one way fares from the Washington, DC area for as low as $59. And consider, if you stay even one day in one of the more affordable Walt Disney World resort hotels, such as All Stars, after you checked out, you’d would earn bounce back discount rates to reserve rooms at any Walt Disney Resort Hotel through 2027 at significantly reduced rate. That would be great for planning a longer trip during the late fall, holidays or early spring. So, if you are inclined to go during World Princess Week, bring your autograph book and your Disney planner!
Keep in mind that Magic Kingdom will be closing at 6 pm on Tuesday and Friday next week during World Princess Week for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. To see the princesses in the parades, you may wish to visit Magic Kingdom on another day, such as Wednesday. For example, Wednesday’s parade schedule that week is:
You can also celebrate World Princess Week at home by watching Disney Princess movies. I’ll be sharing ways to incorporate Princess-inspired self-care activities into your wellness routine next week. I hope you like it!
