Yes, it’s here! June 26 is known in Disney circles as Stitch Day, the day we celebrate that lovable-but-chaotic blue alien from the movie (and television series), Lilo and Stitch.

Stitch has a special place in my heart because Lilo and Stitch was the first movie I took my son to see. He was about three years old at the time and I was amazed that he made it through the whole movie. I remember thinking that my son resembled Stitch, maybe just a little bit, when he had melt downs! Anybody raising a toddler — or maybe a rambunctious pet — can relate to the crazy that Stitch brings!

But Stitch is loved for a reason. Stitch reminds us that we are all imperfect but lovable just the same — and we are grateful that our friends and family have the grace to understand that. The characters in the movie teach us that Ohana means family and that it’s important to support our loved ones and appreciate their differences and special qualities.

And yes, Stitch is also very funny! Today would be a fun day to watch Lilo and Stitch and enjoy an Hawaiian inspired drink, food or treat. If you are shopping today, you can find lots of inexpensive and fun Stitch-themed surprises at Dollar Tree, Five Below, Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby.

Here is my cute Stitch mini backpack that I bagged (get it? “bagged?” LOL) for $8 on sale at Walmart last year. I think the price has gone back up since then….but compared to a Loungefly, this park bag is a real bargain! I like the details, like the pineapples on the zipper pulls and the satin, hibiscus pattern on the interior lining.

I love my little Stitch figurine from Dollar Tree ($1.25) and the Stitch t-shirt I bought for my son at Five Below ($5.55).

While I’m re-watching Lilo and Stitch tonight, I am going to treat myself to this Stitch-themed Coconut and Vanilla Facial Sheet Mask from Dollar Tree ($1.25). I’ve already tried the Moana one before and I loved it!

If you are at Magic Kingdom today, you’ll find a fun celebration going on with a dance party in Tomorrowland with Stitch and his pink friend, Angel.

Today is a fun day to celebrate everything Stitch. Would you like to know more about fun themed days to celebrate?

I’ve got you! Download this free page of celebration days and special days at Disney all year long. I have sized these Planner pages to fit into a 4″ x 6″ mini photo album that you can purchase for $1.25 at Dollar Tree. All you do is print the pages on your printer at home or on a copy machine on regular 8.5″ x 11″ inch paper and then trim the pages with scissors to fit into the 4″ x 6″ planner. Nothing could be easier! It is just the right size to slip into your park bag or pick up for quick reference, whether you are planning at home or traveling to Disney. See my blog post for a link to 36 free pages to get you started :)

I hope you enjoy them! Have a magical, Stitch-themed 626 Day!
